Salary - Competitive Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday What you need to know about the role The Head of Occupational Safety is responsible for providing expert guidance on Health & Safety (H&S) strategy, driving continuous improvement in safety performance, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards. This role is pivotal in shaping a strong safety culture across the organisation. Principal Accountabilities * Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation * Providing expert guidance on technical, legal, and regulatory issues * Monitoring performance data to identify risks and deliver improvement plans * Managing incident reporting and investigations, including RIDDOR compliance * Liaising with external bodies and supporting safety training initiatives What we need to know about you We’re looking for a Health & Safety professional with proven expertise in risk management and occupational safety. You’ll bring strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, ISO 45001 implementation, and hold a NEBOSH Diploma (a Health & Safety degree is preferred). The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail to identify hazards, alongside the ability to produce detailed reports and develop effective safety procedures.
