Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistants – Cardiff Area\n Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas\n\nTeaching Personnel is currently looking for proactive, passionate, and reliable Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Welsh-medium primary schools in Cardiff.\n\nWelsh-speaking education staff are in high demand, and we have a variety of opportunities available—from flexible day-to-day supply work to long-term placements. Whether you're an experienced classroom assistant or looking to take your first steps into education, we want to hear from you.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\nFluent Welsh speakers who are enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development.\nIdeally, experience working with children (e.g., in schools, nurseries, coaching, youth work), but this is not essential.\nWe can register applicants as Trainee Teaching Assistants if we can reference transferable experience working in team environments or with children outside of formal education.\nDesirable Qualifications:\n\nWe welcome applications from individuals with any of the following:\n\nNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning\nCACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education\nHigher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)\nBTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies\nOr equivalent childcare/education qualifications\nWe also consider unqualified but experienced Learning Support Assistants or candidates with relevant experience supporting pupils in primary or secondary school settings.\n\nOpportunities in Additional Learning Needs (ALN):\n\nA significant number of our roles are within ALN settings, supporting pupils with:\n\nAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)\nDyslexia, Dyspraxia\nEmotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)\nModerate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)\nPhysical Disabilities\nProfound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)\nRole Responsibilities:\n\nAs a Teaching Assistant, you will:\n\nSupport pupils’ educational and social development under the direction of class teachers, ALNCOs, and senior staff.\nHelp implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).\nProvide 1:1 or group support to enable full engagement in class activities.\nAssist in maintaining pupil records.\nEncourage positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional or behavioural challenges.\n\nWhy Work with Teaching Personnel?\n\nA dedicated consultant to support your job search and placements\nFlexible work to suit your availability\nCompetitive pay, paid weekly\nOpportunities for training and career development\nIf you're passionate about education and fluent in Welsh, apply today to join our dedicated network of education professionals across Cardiff.\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
