Overview

We welcome applicants from current Band 5 staff or recent graduates with a strong interest and commitment to developing skills and expertise in delivering quality interventions to service users accessing our community mental health teams. We have permanent and 18 month fixed term positions available. Our CMHTs are part of the Integrated Community Care and Recovery Directorate (ICCR). The successful applicant will join a team with Band 6, Apprentice and Technical Instructors, led by a Band 7 Clinical Lead and Manager. The role emphasizes recovery, co-production, and engagement with service users to develop personalised care that supports wellbeing.

We offer a preceptorship and mentoring during the first year, training opportunities to support career development, and access to role-specific training. You will receive caseload management, regular management and clinical supervision, and wellbeing support. Flexible working and support for those returning from career breaks are available. Our managers are committed to an open learning environment for sharing good practice, QI and leadership projects.

Main duties of the job

Our CMHTs are committed to providing high-quality care. OT staff carry caseloads, are involved in triage and assessment, and work as part of an MDT. You will escalate concerns when needed and engage in multi-agency collaboration with third sector and statutory organisations. You will develop clinical skills as an OT and contribute to MDT work.

Working for our organisation

We employ around 4,000 clinical and support staff serving ~70,000 people each year across Birmingham and Solihull, with national reach in specialised services. The Trust provides medical, nursing and psychology training and has an international reputation for research and innovation. Our population is culturally diverse with areas of deprivation that influence service demand. We are a compassionate, inclusive team focused on delivering excellent care.

If you are looking for a place to belong where you can make a real difference, join our team.
