Job description
As CCP Director, you will be responsible for:�
1. Leading and developing a high performing team of just under 100 people, contributing to the leadership of CMRR and across DBT
2. Managing an overall budget of �60 million
3. Delivering high standards of support to Ministers personally and through your teams
4. Implementation of the Digital Markets, Competition and�Consumers Bill
5. Leading the next phase of competition and consumer policy reform and championing its importance across Whitehall
6. Implementing and evaluating the UK Subsidy Control regime
7. Driving forward UK Smart Data Policy to apply the model in new sectors
8. Sponsoring several DBT Partner Organisations, including the Competition and Markets Authority, Competition Appeals Tribunal, Groceries�Code Adjudicator and Pubs Code Adjudicator
9. Ensuring rigorous standards for managing money by DBT-funded organisations, including Citizens Advice, Citizens Advice Scotland, and the�Chartered Trading Standards Institute
10. Advising Ministers on the relationship with Royal Mail and its statutory obligations

11. Visible, inclusive and empowering leadership with the ability to set direction and motivate teams to high performance standards.
12. Strong strategic thinking skills, with high intellectual energy and the ability to shape and lead a broad agenda as well as a familiarity with�economic concepts.
13. A rigorous, analytical capability to drive evidence-based policy making and implement complex policies.
14. A track record of driving successful delivery at pace with the flexibility to respond to emerging challenges, take decisions in an ambiguous�environment and prioritise the work of the team.
15. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, able to build trusting relationships at the most senior levels inside and�outside government and use them to deliver Government objectives.
Benefits
Alongside your salary of �97,000, Department for Business and Trade contributes �26,160 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
