The Royal Sutton School is seeking a creative, organised, and enthusiastic Art Technician to support our thriving Art department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the arts who enjoys working in a busy educational environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and supporting teachers and students in delivering high-quality creative lessons. Key Responsibilities Prepare, organise, and maintain art materials and equipment for lessons Assist teachers with lesson preparation and practical activities Support students during practical sessions where required Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with health and safety procedures Manage stock levels, order materials, and organise storage of resources Prepare displays of students’ work across the department and wider school Maintain specialist equipment such as printing presses, kilns, or cutting tools where applicable What you'll need to succeed A passion for art and creative processes Good organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to work independently and as part of a team Practical knowledge of art materials and techniques Good communication skills when working with staff and students A commitment to supporting a positive learning environment Previous experience working in a school environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
