The Firm
A leading UK law firm with a strong reputation in contentious financial services work is seeking a Newly Qualified (or junior-level) Solicitor to join its Banking & Finance Disputes team. The firm advises major financial institutions, lenders, funds, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals on complex and high-value disputes.
The Role
You will work as part of a highly regarded disputes team specialising in banking and finance litigation. The role offers exposure to a broad range of matters, including:
* Banking litigation, including lender liability and professional negligence claims
* Financial services disputes involving regulatory issues and mis-selling claims
* Debt recovery and enforcement actions
* Insolvency-related disputes and asset recovery
* Fraud and asset tracing matters
* Cross-border disputes and multi-jurisdictional litigation
You will have responsibility for managing your own caseload (with appropriate supervision) as well as supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with and managing contentious banking and finance matters from inception to resolution
* Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
* Conducting legal research and preparing advice for clients
* Engaging with clients, counsel, and experts
* Supporting on mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
* Ensuring compliance with relevant procedural rules and regulatory frameworks
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (NQ to circa 3 PQE)
* Experience in litigation, ideally with exposure to banking, finance, or commercial disputes
* Strong academic background and excellent drafting skills
* Commercial awareness and an interest in financial services disputes
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
