The Rare Diseases Finance Partner is a newly created role, vital for the financial running of the Rare Diseases business. This role reports into the Group Finance Director and partners with the President of Rare Diseases, as well as the R&D and Commercial teams. The Rare Diseases division currently has one lead asset, Hu14.18K322A (Hu14.18), an immunotherapy currently in Phase IIb/III clinical development for the treatment of high-risk neuroblastoma. What You Will Do
Finance Partner responsibilities
* Responsible for full financial tracking of spend within Renaissance Pharma Ltd
* Proactively support business in managing their budget, making recommendations and finding solutions to manage spend as business activities and priorities change
* Support business in the contracting and SOW process to ensure spend is within budget and financial terms within contracts are appropriate
* Attend monthly Lead Team meetings for Renaissance and support management with ad-hoc queries
* Respond to financial queries from President of Rare Disease, Group Finance Director and CFO with relation to the Rare Diseases business
* Respond to ad-hoc queries from Private Equity owners
* Track and review milestone payments to ensure compliance and payment in accordance with the agreements in place
* Manage the R&D tax credits to ensure benefits are optimized
* Manage insurance in relation to clinical trials and other Renaissance activities
Commercial forecasting
* Full ownership of commercial sales forecast and cost model to ensure information is up to date and reflects current business expectations
* Adaptation of model as and when necessary to ensure appropriate for needs of stake holders or additional purposes
* Responsible for preparing forecast analysis for Renaissance to explain variances
* Provide project analysis where necessary to support key commercial decision making
* Work closely with the Group accounting team to ensure all accruals are booked accurately and in a timely manner
* Liaise with Group external auditors on all queries in relation to Renaissance
* Support Financial Accountant with statutory reporting responsibilities relating to the Renaissance entity
* Support preparation of tax returns and other necessary tax compliance
Ad hoc group support
* Potential for ad hoc support into finance projects in the wider Essential Pharma Group

What You Will Bring
Qualifications
* Professional finance and/or accounting qualification ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Experience
* Strong knowledge of finance processes and related controls
* Experience of R&D
* Experience as a finance partner within Pharma sector
