KPMG's Risk & Regulatory Advisory (R&RA) practice is a strategic growth area for the firm. Part of Enterprise Risk Services offering, it provides client services across a broad range of financial and non-financial risk domains. The team specializes in controls-related services, including controls transformation, operating model design, testing, and automation using AI. They work closely with other teams such as Technology Risk, Functional Transformation, and People and Change to deliver comprehensive solutions.
We are seeking a Director to join the Financial Services team in London.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Director in FS R&RA Controls, you will work on various engagements for Banking and FS clients, including:
* Building and maintaining relationships with senior client management, including C-suite executives, to identify new business opportunities.
* Contributing to the development of our go-to-market strategies, including sales, marketing, and asset development.
* Supporting the growth of the Controls practice within FS through internal marketing, collateral development, recruitment, and profile-raising.
* Leading and delivering complex advisory projects such as controls library builds, process mapping, health checks, controls automation, testing, IPO readiness, and SOX implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Managing and developing a diverse team of controls experts.
* Applying knowledge of BASEL, Provision 29, SOX, BCBS239, and banking processes to client engagements.
* Managing engagement risks and defining deliverables to secure buy-in from top management.
* Enhancing KPMG’s reputation through quality work and professional presence.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Significant professional experience, including leadership roles.
* Expertise in controls implementation or assurance, with experience in banking processes and financial models.
* Understanding of IFRS and preferably an accounting qualification.
* Experience with SEC and PCAOB rules, SOX programs, and regulatory compliance.
* Proven ability to identify opportunities, lead projects, and build client relationships.
* Strong project management and analytical skills, with experience in AI applications for controls.
* Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
* Interest in banking regulation, risk topics, and innovative solutions.
* Experience in business development and working across jurisdictions.
