Children’s Residential Support Worker (Days – Long Days)
Location: DoncasterService: Children’s residential home supporting children with learning difficultiesHours: Minimum 40 hours per week (Long Days, Long Days sleeps)Shift requirement: Must be able to work 07:45–22:00Contract: Full Time, Permanent Pay: £12.25-£13 depending on experience
The Role
You’ll provide consistent, high-quality care and support to children with learning difficulties, promoting independence, safety and positive outcomes within a nurturing residential setting. You’ll work as part of a strong, established team with excellent staffing ratios.
What You’ll Do
* Support children with daily routines, personal care (where required), education, activities and community access
* Build trusted, trauma-informed relationships and implement support plans and risk assessments
* Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice and positive behaviour support
* Complete accurate records, reports and handovers
* Work long-day shifts (07:45–22:00) as part of a rota (no back-to-back shifts)
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Minimum 1 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting or closely related care (learning difficulties/complex needs)
* Driver with access to a vehicle
* Able to commit to minimum 40 hours per week
* Able to work 07:45–22:00 long-day shifts
* Cannot work 2 shifts in a row (service policy)
Desirable
* Experience with PBS/LD/ASC
* Up-to-date training (safeguarding, medication, first aid)
