Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Staxton, North Yorkshire
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP / January 2026
GSL Education are looking for a resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs in a specialist provision near Staxton. This role is suited to someone experienced in youth work, mentoring or supporting vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities
* Support pupils displaying challenging behaviours
* Implement personalised behaviour support plans
* Encourage engagement, consistency and resilience
* Work collaboratively with pastoral and teaching staff
* Promote a safe, respectful learning environment
Requirements
* Experience in SEMH, youth work or behaviour support
* Ability to remain calm, consistent and firm but fair
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
