Our client – a pioneering tech organisation operating at the edge of innovation – is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a growing team of software engineers. You’ll be working on deeply technical, end-to-end software solutions that support advanced hardware systems, influencing everything from real-time control layers to compilers and application-facing interfaces.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with talented software developers and domain scientists, helping define and deliver software that underpins revolutionary systems used both internally and externally. Take Ownership of Strategy : Lead the roadmap for software development in collaboration with senior engineering and project stakeholders.
Influence full-stack architecture and define components for modular development and release.
Grow a Talented Team : Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 10+ software engineers — and growing.
Drive Quality and Delivery : Establish scalable devops, release management, and third-line support processes in a maturing environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with physics, engineering, and operations experts to create software that directly drives innovative systems.
System monitoring or data centre tooling
Full-stack development (Python, Rust)
You’ll also be comfortable navigating ambiguity and shaping process as you go — perfect for someone who enjoys building not just software, but great software teams.
Proven experience managing and scaling software teams across multiple projects
Strong technical leadership – from strategic planning to hands-on guidance
Experience balancing short-term delivery and long-term technical quality
Familiarity with modern software development lifecycle practices
