OEGen is a specialist energy investment manager overseeing more than £8 billion of assets under management. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a net zero energy system by investing in clean energy infrastructure and energy transition businesses across multiple jurisdictions.
As our international portfolio continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our in-house tax capability with the addition of a commercially minded tax professional who is keen to develop within a fast-paced investment environment.
The Role
We are looking for a Tax Assistant Manager (or emerging Tax Manager) to join the OEGen Tax Team, reporting directly to the Funds & Deals Tax Lead.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 4–5 years’ experience who is looking to step into a broader international role and continue developing their technical, commercial, and project management skills within a growing infrastructure investment platform.
The role will support a portfolio of OEGen funds and associated holding structures across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with investment teams, finance teams, portfolio companies, and external advisors on a wide range of tax matters, including compliance oversight, reporting, transactions, and structuring support.
The position offers broad exposure to international investment structures and cross-border transactions, while working as part of a collaborative and hands‑on in‑house tax team.
What you’ll do
* Support the management of tax matters across OEGen funds and associated holding structures.
* Coordinate international tax compliance processes with local advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
* Assist with tax reporting, tax provisioning, and financial statement disclosures.
* Support tax workstreams on acquisitions, restructurings, refinancings, and other transactions.
* Review transaction and financing documentation from a tax perspective, with support from senior team members where needed.
* Monitor tax risks and support ongoing governance and compliance processes.
* Work closely with investment, finance, legal, and external advisory teams across the business.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tax processes and documentation.
What you’ll need
* Around 4–5 years’ experience in corporate tax.
* CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification (or close to qualification).
* Experience gained in a Big 4 firm, international advisory firm, law firm, or in‑house tax team.
* Good grounding in tax compliance, reporting, and tax accounting.
* Exposure to cross‑border structures or international tax matters is helpful, but deep expertise is not expected.
* An interest in infrastructure, energy, or investment management is a plus.
* Foreign language skills (particularly German, French, Spanish, or Italian) would be beneficial but are not required.
* Strong reasoning skills, good commercial awareness, and a willingness to learn. This role would suit someone looking to grow into a broader international tax management role over time, working closely with experienced senior stakeholders in a supportive and collaborative environment.
