Lead Practitioner role at Aberlour Children's Charity
We are looking for a Lead Practitioner who shares our vision and values, with the passion and ability to support managers in guiding and developing the team. This is a maternity cover post and is fixed term until 30 September 2026.
Base pay range
Salary: £33,592 per annum (Includes 9% unsocial hours allowance), fixed term until 30/09/26
Contractual hours: 37.5 per week
Basis: Full time
Region: Tayside
Package: Up to 40 days of annual leave, pro rata, 3 x salary life insurance, up to 10% employer pension contribution, excellent terms and conditions
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Lead Practitioner who shares our vision and values, with the passion and ability to support managers in guiding and developing the team. Your hours of work (37.5 per week) will be based around the needs of the families we work with, which will include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Core hours follow a two week pattern, with one 12 hour shift every fortnight. This role will be working within both our outreach part of the service and in the residential house so that we can ensure that our families have continued support on their journey to recovery. A driving licence is essential. This is a maternity cover post and is fixed term until 30 September 2026.
You will support the assessment, intervention and planning for women and their children; initially when women are referred to the service, during their stay in the residential house and supporting them when they return to their communities, working in partnership with other agencies.
Ideally you will have experience of direct work with vulnerable families to support improved capacity for women and children and of working collaboratively with other professional agencies and a working knowledge of drug/alcohol use and its effects on women and children.
Responsibilities
* Support managers in guiding and developing the team.
* Assist with assessment, intervention and planning for women and their children.
* Coordinate care from referral through stay in the residential house to community return, in partnership with other agencies.
* Work across outreach and residential settings to ensure ongoing family support.
Qualifications
* Experience of direct work with vulnerable families and collaboration with professional agencies.
* Working knowledge of drug/alcohol use and its effects on women and children.
* A driving licence is essential.
