Morson Edge are working with a tier 1 contractor who are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join their Civil Engineering division. Role - Pre-Construction Manager Location - St Albans Salary - £65k to £75k Bens Tickets/training/certs required - A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related engineering discipline. -Demonstrable understanding of CDM Regulations, construction safety principles, and relevant industry standards. - Up to date knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms (training or certification advantageous). -Valid CSCS card or ability to obtain one. -Full UK driving licence Specific experience required -Proven experience in pre construction management, design management, or project management within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects. -Strong track record of leading the pre construction phase on multi disciplinary projects, including design development, planning, risk management, and early stage strategy. -Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multi disciplinary consultants, design teams, and internal stakeholders. -Experience producing and managing pre construction budgets, programmes, reports, and dashboards. -Solid understanding of design processes, engineering principles, and construction methodologies, including permanent and temporary works interfaces. -Strong working knowledge of commercial processes, contract requirements (including NEC or similar), change control, and risk/opportunity management. -Experience supporting or leading client and stakeholder engagement, including meetings, design reviews, and progress updates. -Familiarity with coordinating site investigations, surveys, consents, and early construction planning activities. -Experience contributing to bid teams, reviewing client briefs, and advising on design, delivery, and commercial risks. -Proven ability to manage and collaborate with the supply chain, including specialist subcontractors and suppliers. -Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
