Job Title: Principal Electrical Power Engineer
Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
2. Authoring and reviewing technical documentation
3. Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
4. Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across various engineering disciplines
5. Engaging with customers and suppliers to solve complex problems
6. Leading and mentoring junior team members through the systems definition process
7. Traveling to various locations across the UK, including BAE, customer, and supplier sites
Your skills and experiences:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
2. Chartership in Engineering (or significant progress towards it)
3. Extensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Experience with Permanent Magnet Motors/Generators

As a Principal Electrical Power Engineer, you will join a new team working on innovative technologies for the British Navy, focusing on Turbo Generators. Relocation support packages are available for eligible roles.
