THE SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER ROLE
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of technically challenging projects within nuclear and defence programmes. You’ll lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems using your in-depth knowledge of engineering codes, CAD tools, and regulated design processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end mechanical design work, from concept to detailed delivery
* Apply design codes and industry standards to ensure safe and compliant solutions
* Deliver high-quality technical documentation, calculations, and design justifications
* Use computer-aided design tools to produce detailed engineering outputs
* Guide junior engineers and contribute to peer reviews and technical assurance
* Engage with stakeholders and clients to present solutions with confidence
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER – ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
* Chartered or working toward Chartered status
* Proven experience in project engineering and mechanical design
* Familiarity with nuclear design codes, CAD systems, and safety-critical standards
* Strong understanding of the design lifecycle in high-integrity environments
* Experience in regulated sectors such as Nuclear, MOD, or Defence
* Active SC or DV Security Clearance
