In this role, you’ll support both the Indirect and Direct Tax Managers across a wide range of tax matters, ensuring Cadent remains compliant with UK tax legislation and meets all reporting obligations. You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate tax reporting, supporting strategic tax projects, and advising the business on tax implications. Indirect Tax Compliance – Support the preparation and submission of VAT, PSA, and other indirect tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Direct Tax Compliance - Assist with corporation tax computations including taking the lead on capital allowances, and tax-sensitive analysis Reporting – Assist with statutory and management accounts reporting and SAO processes. R&D and Reliefs – Act as a key contact for R&D projects and support the calculation of RDEC claims to optimise corporate tax relief. Regulatory Reporting – Own the delivery of tax-related data for RRP and RFPR submissions to Ofgem. Process Improvement – Support the implementation of tax-efficient systems and processes, and contribute to the development of best practices. Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing guidance on tax queries and supporting audit and assurance activities What You'll Bring: You’re a detail-oriented and collaborative tax professional with a strong technical foundation and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) – required Tax qualification – desirable Ideally 2 years’ experience in a corporate tax environment Knowledge of indirect or direct taxation, with a willingness to develop in the other discipline Understanding of or desire to learn about R&D (RDEC) claims and their practical application Experience with SAP ECC, SAP BW, and reporting systems Written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight statutory deadlines Well-organised, with strong planning and analytical skills Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team Looking to take the next step in your tax career?
