Boden Group are proud to be partnering with a leading UK research organisation to appoint a Head of Estates & Workplace in a senior, strategic leadership role.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a diverse, multi-site estate portfolio, driving long-term strategy while leading operational excellence across both hard and soft FM services.
The Role
You will sit at senior leadership level, working closely with executive stakeholders to:
* Develop and deliver a future estates strategy aligned to organisational goals
* Lead estates, workplace and FM services across multiple UK sites and international locations
* Drive capital projects, planning and estate optimisation
* Oversee compliance, risk, and operational delivery across complex environments
* Influence senior stakeholders, including board-level engagement
* Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team, creating a high-performance culture
This is a highly visible role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on leadership.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience leading estates strategy and workplace functions
* Strong background across hard & soft FM, compliance, and estate planning
* A confident, credible leader who can manage diverse teams and strong personalities
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in complex, knowledge-led environments
* Commercial awareness with experience delivering budgets, business cases and projects
* High levels of emotional intelligence, able to challenge constructively and influence effectively
Experience within research, scientific, or similarly complex stakeholder environments would be highly advantageous.
