A fast-growing house building company based in Pontefract (WF9) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design & Build Coordinator with 3–5 years’ experience to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects, with a primary focus on residential housing developments.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong contractor-side background who can confidently coordinate across multiple disciplines, including engineering, architecture, and multi-utilities, ensuring seamless integration from design through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the design process across multiple live projects
Act as the key interface between design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams
Review and manage architectural and engineering drawings to ensure buildability and compliance
Oversee integration of multi-utilities (water, gas, electric, telecoms) into project designs
Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and technical issues early in the process
Support project delivery teams in maintaining programme timelines and design milestones
Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements, planning conditions, and industry standards
Assist with value engineering and cost-effective design solutions
Attend and contribute to design meetings, site meetings, and coordination workshops
Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control
Requirements
3–5 years’ experience in a design coordination or similar role within construction
Strong preference for candidates with a contractor background
Proven experience working on residential / housing projects
Solid understanding of:
Architectural design
Civil and structural engineering
Multi-utilities coordination
General construction methodologies
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience with common construction and design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable
Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes
Experience working on mixed-use or varied construction projects
