Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastry items, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. Duties
* Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, including cakes, tarts, biscuits, and other baked goods
* Assist in developing new pastry recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation and handling
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, including equipment and work surfaces
* Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistency and quality of products
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation activities efficiently
* Manage inventory levels of ingredients specific to pastry production and place orders as needed
Requirements
* Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking within a professional kitchen environment
* Strong background in culinary arts specialising in baking and pastry making
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
* Previous restaurant or bakery experience is highly desirable
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
* A genuine passion for baking and creating visually appealing desserts
