About the Role
We are looking for a qualified Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) who wishes to join an existing school‑based Mental Health Support Team (MHST).
Team and Environment
The post-holder will work in the Stevenage team, an established MHST that supports 20 educational settings across the borough. The team offers a caring, supportive environment with strong leadership, clear objectives, direction, and regular supervision.
Qualifications
All applicants must be registered with a relevant governing body, i.e. BPS or BABCP.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves working alongside qualified and trainee EMHPs/CWPs Senior Practitioners and a Team Leader, providing early interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns in an educational setting. Mental Health Support Teams operate year‑round, offering support to young people during school holidays in addition to term time. Core hours are Monday‑Friday 9‑5, with occasional facilitation of group work or workshops outside these times. The post-holder will work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
