Overview
An opportunity has arisen to be part of the Sheffield Community Safety Team which is responsible for coordinating partner activity to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in Sheffield. We are advertising one role, a Safer Neighbourhood Coordinator within the multi‑agency Fortify Team. Safer Neighbourhood Coordinators act as the local problem‑solving lead for reducing crime, disorder and anti‑social behaviour by closely monitoring analytical products and intelligence, ensuring appropriate and timely responses. A key part of the role involves working with partners to achieve the city’s strategic crime and disorder priorities by achieving local buy‑in and leading on the delivery of local action plans.
This post will specifically support our multi‑agency organised crime team, with the purpose of coordinating partners to address organised crime and prevent vulnerable people from being exploited by organised crime groups.
Responsibilities
* Act as the local problem‑solving lead for reducing crime, disorder and anti‑social behaviour.
* Monitor analytical products and intelligence, ensuring appropriate and timely responses.
* Work with partners to achieve the city’s strategic crime and disorder priorities.
* Lead on the delivery of local action plans.
* Coordinate partners to address organised crime and protect vulnerable people from exploitation.
Qualifications
* Pass the Police vetting process.
* Meet the essential criteria for the Guaranteed Interview scheme (disabled, care leavers, or armed forces veterans). Applicants must indicate eligibility.
* Possess relevant safeguarding knowledge and be willing to undertake safeguarding checks.
Benefits
Full‑time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and offer generous holiday entitlement. Flexibility is available through discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities, including reduced hour contracts, part‑time work, or job sharing.
Starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade, with potential for adjustment based on payslip evidence of higher basic pay within the grade. Equality of pay is important. All roles are subject to an evaluation process that may result in changes to pay arrangements from 2026.
