About the role
We’re looking for a Fleet Compliance & Quality Officer to help ensure our emergency service vehicles are safe, legally compliant, and maintained to the highest possible standard. This is a key position where you’ll carry out inspections, lead technical investigations into major component failures, and support workshops in meeting regulatory and quality expectations.
You’ll work closely with operational and technical teams while also acting as a point of contact during external audits.
What you’ll be doing

Carrying out compliance audits across fleet workshops and vehicle operations
*
Inspecting vehicles to confirm maintenance quality and adherence to manufacturer standards
*
Leading investigations into significant mechanical failures and producing detailed technical reports
*
Monitoring health & safety, environmental and hazardous substance controls
*
Supporting the development and improvement of fleet policies and procedures
*
Identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
*
Preparing documentation for internal and external audit activity
*
Promoting a strong safety and quality culture across the fleet function
What we’re looking for
*
Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle compliance and inspection standards
*
Experience within a fleet, transport, HGV, automotive or emergency service environment
*
Health & safety qualification such as NEBOSH (or working towards)
*
Ability to analyse technical information and produce clear reports
*
Confident communicator who can work with a wide range of stakeholders
*
Organised with strong auditing and record-keeping skills
Desirable
*
Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or similar)
*
Understanding of ISO quality or safety management systems
*
Transport Manager CPC
