At BJF, we have an exciting opportunity within our expanding construction-biased business, supporting our FM division as a Fabric Engineer.
Our UK-based organization serves a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients across divisions such as Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works, and related trades.
Position Responsibilities
1. Respond to reactive calls, perform first fix where possible, and scope quotes for repairs when necessary, minimizing downtime.
2. Carry out planned building and fabric maintenance tasks as scheduled, maintaining accurate records.
3. Perform small to large fabric repairs and upgrades internally and externally.
4. Cover various tasks including masonry, carpentry, ironmongery, roof repairs, and kitchen fitting.
5. Scope tasks and material requirements to achieve desired results.
6. Maintain internal and external decor in good order, adhering to specifications and completing tasks timely.
7. Work within Health and Safety protocols relevant to the activities.
8. Proactively promote safety, identifying and mitigating risks.
9. Maintain high standards of customer care as a client-facing role.
10. Perform other duties as required to support operational needs.
Requirements
1. Experience in planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks within KPI targets.
2. Background in domestic, commercial, or industrial fabric engineering.
3. Proactive, positive, and solution-oriented attitude.
4. Experience following a Periodic Electrical Installation Condition Report, including minor works certification.
5. Experience in both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
* IPAF, MEWP certifications
* BM Trada / Fire Door experience
* Plastering skills
* Masonry training
* Locksmith training
