We are partnering with a successful and fast-growing fashion business known for delivering trend-led, high-quality knitwear collections to leading retailers and global customers. We are looking for an experienced and creative Freelance Knitwear Designer to join the team on a project basis, bringing fresh ideas and technical expertise to seasonal ranges.
This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative, fashion-forward knitwear across womenswear contributing to both design direction and product development.
This role is fairly flexible and has a view of being 2-3 days a week for a few months.
Main Responsibilities will include:
* Research and interpret seasonal trends to create inspiring knitwear concepts.
* Develop original knitwear designs in line with brand identity and target customer.
* Produce detailed CADs, technical packs, and stitch layouts for sampling and production.
* Select yarns, stitches, and trims with a focus on quality, cost, and sustainability.
* Liaise closely with factories and suppliers to ensure design accuracy and on-time delivery.
* Work collaboratively with the buying, technical, and merchandising teams to ensure commercial viability of the range.
