The difference you will make as an Environmental Operative:
In this role you will undertake a range of grounds maintenance work within your assigned region to landscaped areas, gardens and open spaces owned by the Group.
About you
We are looking for someone to:
1. Environmental Services / grounds maintenance experience.
2. Ability to undertake manual work.
Role Profile
3. Undertake general maintenance to hard and soft landscaped areas owned by the Group, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, clearing leaves and shrub bed cultivations.
4. Provide a rapid flexible response to the removal of fly tipping, rubbish removal and graffiti removal.
5. Maintain safe working practices at all times when utilising appropriate hand tools and machinery.
6. Report health, safety and environmental breaches and issues to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor in line with the agreed escalation route.
7. Apply ‘Our Riverside Way’ within the environmental offer by delivering excellent levels of customer service at all times.
8. Provide community insight, reporting any environmental issues, community safety or resident feedback to the Environmental Supervisor as appropriate and in line with the agreed escalation route.
9. Maintain effective relationships with colleagues on each of our contracts.
10. Undertake personal development and training to keep up to date with all relevant legislation.
11. Work collaboratively and flexibly across all teams within the organisation.
12. Ensure work activities are compliant with the organisation’s policies and procedures as well as external statutory and regulatory obligations.
13. Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required to support the effective operation of the service.
14. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
15. Environmental Services / grounds maintenance experience.
16. Ability to undertake manual work.
17. Customer focussed with excellent communication skills.
18. Clean driving licence
19. Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
20. Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements
21. It is a requirement that the role holder holds a current, valid UK driving licence.
Desirable:
22. Successful completion of a horticultural course.
