Chartered Surveyor - Rural Practice

Location: Carlisle, Cumbria | Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits

A leading rural property firm with a strong presence across the North of England is looking to welcome a Chartered Surveyor to their growing team in Carlisle.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their surveying career - whether you've just completed your APC or you're a few years post-qualification - and are looking to broaden your experience across a wide variety of rural and land-based work.

The Role

You'll be joining a supportive and experienced team, gaining hands-on exposure across:

* Valuations (ideally as a RICS Registered Valuer or working towards)
* Estate and farm business management
* Land and property sales and acquisitions
* Compensation and wayleave negotiations
* Rural planning, diversification and development schemes
* Landlord and tenant matters
* Residential lettings and rural asset management

This position offers real breadth, ideal for a surveyor who enjoys variety and wants to develop both technical and client-facing skills.

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with:

* RICS- or CAAV-qualified Surveyors (or those nearing completion)
* Individuals with a rural background or genuine interest in land and agricultural property
* Self-starters who enjoy problem-solving and engaging with clients
* Team players who are ready to learn and grow in a dynamic environment

Prior management experience is not required - this firm is committed to training and progression, and will support your professional development at every stage.

Why Carlisle?

Set just outside the Lake District and close to the Scottish border, Carlisle offers an outstanding work-life balance. You'll find:

* Affordable housing and great local amenities
* A growing business community and welcoming professional network
* Quick access to the outdoors: lakes, coastlines, and national parks all nearby
* Strong transport links to Newcastle, Glasgow, and Manchester

Whether you're relocating or already local, this is a fantastic base to build your future.

What's on Offer

* A competitive salary tailored to your experience
* Private healthcare and pension contributions
* Income protection cover
* Onsite parking and flexible working arrangements
* Supportive team culture and real progression opportunities
* Ongoing training and CPD

If you're an early-career surveyor looking to make your mark in the rural property world - or you're seeking a lifestyle change without compromising your career - this could be the role for you.

Get in touch today for a confidential discussion.
