Lead Mechanical Design EngineerIndustry: Industrial Engineering & ManufacturingSalary: £60k-£70kLocation: SuffolkAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business supporting a global customer base. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in leading day to day activities, product improvement, customisation projects, and technical support activities across a varied product portfolio.This position would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys a mix of leadership, design, problem solving, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead product enhancement and customisation projects from concept through to releaseProvide day to day leadership of the design teamManage engineering changes, technical documentation, and drawing updatesProduce 2D and 3D CAD modelsSupport manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and production teams with technical queriesCarry out prototype development, testing, and validation activitiesParticipate in design reviews, FMEA activities, and engineering investigationsSkills & Experience Required:Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar disciplinePrevious experience leading and mentoring engineersStrong 2D and 3D CAD modelling experienceGood understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standardsExperience supporting engineering change processes and technical documentationKnowledge of manufacturing processes and product developmentExperience with FEA, hydraulics, pneumatics, or control systems would be advantageousIf you are looking for a varied engineering role within an established business where you can contribute to both product development and ongoing engineering improvements, then apply with a copy of your CV.TPBN1_UKTJ
