Team – Underwriting & Claims - Life
Working Pattern - This can worked out of either our London, Bournemouth or Stockport office on a hybrid set up of 2 days attendance per week as well as being a fully remote role. Full time hours.

Data AnalysisWhat this role is all about:
To work on the development of Vitality’s Life automated claims proposition and existing automated underwriting offerings, maximising data analysis for process and philosophy improvements.
Key Actions
Oversee the development of claims automation initiatives, building process rules, driving philosophy refinements in conjunction with claims SME’s and developing metrics for improvements to be monitored for future enhancements.
Develop claimant facing rules to facilitate automated outcomes for straight through efficiencies.
Refine and update claims rules in a continuous cycle so that the most up to date and effective criteria are used.
Work with AI teams where appropriate to incorporate the latest techniques into claims assessment.
Support with underwriting automation development, reviewing existing rule performance and proposing enhancements for greater efficiencies, risk control and alignment across engine platforms where appropriate.
Carry out competitor research to improve our claims and underwriting philosophy.
Develop a good understanding of our back office claims and underwriting systems and ensure all relevant fields are reported on, monitored and fed back into claims and underwriting MI.
Build strong relationships with our IT teams and relevant stakeholders in the UK and South Africa ensuring that new developments are suitably tested and delivered on time.
Produce and maintain documentation relevant to claims and underwriting philosophy and rule development.What do you need to thrive?
Broad experience of developing Life claims or underwriting rules engines and increasing STP rates based on sound risk management principles
A sound knowledge and experience of life, serious illness and income protection risks from both an underwriting and claims perspective
Strong analytical and reporting skills –direct experience with recognised reporting packages e.g. Tableau, Yellowfin, Cognos, Business Objects, Power BI etc is essential So, what’s in it for you?
