Job Description:
This role is for an Instrument & Functional Safety Technical Authority (TA) at INEOS, located in Grangemouth. The role involves establishing and maintaining standards for Instrumentation and Protective Systems, developing the Functional Safety Management System in compliance with BS EN 61511, providing technical assurance, and supporting safety and maintenance activities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Acting as the single point of accountability for standards and processes related to instrumentation and protective systems.
* Developing and owning the Functional Safety Management System (FSMS).
* Providing engineering resource and assurance to projects, reviewing external documentation.
* Leading technical issues, maintaining discipline standards, and approving deviations.
* Conducting reliability calculations, defining competency requirements, and providing technical responses.
* Supporting incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
* Managing contracts, maintenance strategies, and spares strategies for instrumentation.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant guidance notes and standards.
* Participating in incident management and supporting asset maintenance teams.
* Developing training materials and managing maintenance procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Significant experience in Instrumentation and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
* Experience in Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
* Knowledge of IEC 61511 and UK standards.
