Overview
This exciting role is within our national IGH Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Manchester office, but open to other regions depending on candidate.
Our clients include UK headquartered and in-bound clients in the IGH sector across the following sub-sectors:
1. Higher Education;
2. Social Housing;
3. Local Government;
4. Public Health;
5. Charities; and
6. Central Government.
Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility, development activity, charity compliance and charitable donations / Gift Aid.
We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time.
The role
7. Working closely with Partners and/or Directors on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service
8. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding their business in order to build your own external network and create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services
9. Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, critically analysing and challenging their input to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients. Managing and delivering compliance services
10. Managing aspects of the team’s operations and performance, including resourcing and coaching and developing junior team members
11. Seeking out and pursuing opportunities with clients and targets and actively participating with Partners and Directors in business development activities
12. Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials

The person
14. Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
15. Ambitious and enthusiastic
16. Strong UK corporation tax knowledge and awareness of other tax and accounting matters
17. Ideally, existing knowledge of the sub-sectors set out above
18. Strong interpersonal skills
19. Strong oral and written communication skills
20. Strong analytical skills, curious and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
21. Excellent project management skills, including ability to work as part of a team and to show initiative to drive projects forward
22. Brings insight and effectively applies knowledge to business and client problems
23. Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others
24. Ability to multi-task and manage a range of clients, projects and relationships
25. Strong motivation to develop and coach junior team members
26. Dedication to continuously develop skills technical knowledge
