A vacancy has arisen within our Earthmoving Workshop based in Biggleswade for a Workshop Supervisor. The role contributes to the success of Liebherr Great Britain Ltd by providing effective and timely support to the workshop. It will ensure the department achieves its key performance indicators and objectives while maintaining a service to both internal and external customers. The Workshop Supervisor will also ensure outstanding customer service at all times whilst working within the Company’s key result areas: Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.
Responsibilities
* Provide hands‑on technical assistance to Workshop Engineers as and when required.
* Assist the Workshop Manager with work planning.
* Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to identify and recommend closing skill gaps for Workshop Engineers and Apprentices.
* Work with the customer in mind and contribute ideas and initiatives that drive improvement of both internal and external relationships.
* Drive increased customer satisfaction by ensuring workmanship delivers quality expected from a leading manufacturer.
* Support the administration of the quality control system within the Workshop.
* Handle the administration required as part of the role.
* Prepare estimates as required.
* Promote a positive and professional image to customers, both internal and external, especially during face‑to‑face discussions at the workshop site.
* Provide effective leadership, training and development of direct reports.
* Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
* Take initiative to liaise with other internal departments as appropriate to identify possible opportunities with existing customers.
* Identify opportunities and contribute to winning ideas that further develop systems and processes and improve working practices.
* Proactively seek new opportunities to develop personal skills and apply them within the Workshop.
* Ensure that self‑image is a key contributor to promoting company business.
Profile
* Completion of a relevant apprenticeship in a similar environment.
* Demonstrated application of technical skills in the similar industry.
* Good communicator at all levels.
* Flexible approach to work.
