Purpose of Role
The Reactive Lead Technician is responsible for delivering urgent and planned works to a high standard, leading by example on-site and supporting technicians where required. This role requires flexibility, with regular out-of-hours (OOH) and weekend cover, and the ability to be redeployed from planned/project works to urgent reactive jobs at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
· Respond rapidly to reactive and emergency jobs, including OOH, evenings, and weekends.
· Lead technicians and agency staff on-site to ensure safe, high-quality delivery.
· Carry out cleaning, waste, and related services in line with RAMS and company standards.
· Ensure all company equipment, vehicles, and PPE are used safely and maintained.
· Accurately log job details, timings, and updates using company tablets.
· Provide training, support, and guidance for technicians and new starters.
· Deputise for colleagues and support the Service Manager with punctuality, communication, and operational standards.
· Conduct vehicle safety checks and ensure vans are clean, stocked, and secure.
· Maintain positive relationships with customers, always acting professionally.
· Support operational debriefs and feedback sessions to improve service delivery.
· Adhere strictly to Health & Safety, Quality, and compliance requirements.
Skills & Experience
· Proven ability to lead and support teams in fast-paced, reactive environments.
· Previous experience in delivering both planned and reactive works.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise under pressure.
· Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.
· Calm and confident when managing staff or client issues.
· Good attention to detail with strong time management skills.
· Full UK driving licence essential.
Additional Requirements
· Regular participation in OOH and weekend rota.
· Flexibility to be reassigned from planned/project works to reactive jobs when required.
· Commitment to continuous training and safe working practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,800.00-£38,000.00 per year
