POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Colour Specialist to join our team on a month Fixed Term Contract basis. Working in the colour laboratory, you will use your colour matching skills to produce colour standards for a variety brands using the main printing processes; offset, flexographic, gravure and screen. You will be required to write reports to document the details of each colour standard created.
Please be advised that this is an onsite role based at our Salford office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Colour matching skills (visual and software based) Xrite/Konice Minolta
2. spectrophotometers and software similar to IFS/IQC
3. Report writing
4. Liaise with internal and external clients via meetings, telephone and email
5. Quality Control of post print samples
6. Presentation of colour standards using standard pattern mounting techniques
7. Stock control and purchasing
8. Follow Health and Safety and COSHH regulations and setting a good example to others
9. Packing and despatch of colour standards
10. Maintaining good housekeeping practices
11. Raising jobs on SAP an advantage
12. Excellent attention to detail
13. Print PQM experience advantageous: Colorcert/Quality control software
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
14. Excellent colour vision
15. Knowledge of inks, printing processes and their associated print packaging types
16. Working in a team environment
17. Report writing and record keeping skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
18. Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
19. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or members of the business community
20. and effectively present information to customers.
21. Mathematical Skills
22. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as colour measurement and be numerically aware.
23. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
24. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to adapt to new situations and provide solutions
25. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheets and Word Processing software.
26. Good understanding of colour matching software together with a sound knowledge of optical
27. instrumentation.
