This post is responsible for the following key areas (but not limited to):
1. Manage the Babcock Phoenix (White Fleet) contract: Provide advice and guidance to the Establishment on vehicle assets required to meet the Core Objectives. Act as the Authorised Demanding Officer (ADO) for the contract.
2. Control and utilisation of Motor Transport vehicles: Ensure the pool fleet is suitable and available to meet the Establishment’s needs, with particular attention to younger drivers. Ensure all regulations affecting the safe operation of Service transport are adhered to.
3. Implement a compliance regime: Monitor and record all Transport Section operations, identify non-compliance with MOD policies, and take corrective actions to maintain compliance.
4. Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor: Provide expert advice on the handling and transport of dangerous goods.
5. Unit Licencing Officer: Authorise personnel for driving licences and training.
6. Driving Permits Manager: Provide technical advice and support on the use of MyDrive.
7. Driver training: Deliver driver familiarisation training for all new Service drivers.
