Job Summary Wrightbus is a rapidly growing company, and as part of this expansion we are recruiting for a Project Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen our commercial and aftermarket support functions. You will develop a pipeline of new spare-parts offerings, identify part numbers, manage internal approvals and costings, and work closely with the Commercial Executive/Manager on product rollout and pricing. The role focuses on delivering key project proposals, meeting requirements, and providing excellent customer support. The Role Manage all aspects of the spares product development process, including: Adhering to project timelines, budgets, and business, sales, commercial and production requirements. Coordinating internal and external stakeholders. Managing project review meetings and producing weekly KPI reports. Ideation & Opportunity Development Create and maintain an Ideation Funnel for new spares package opportunities with risk/reward ranking. Lead regular meetings with stakeholders to generate ideas and report project status. Combine engineering feasibility with market opportunity to assess demand. Ensure clear definition of each opportunity before launch. Technical & Costing Preparation Agree BOM numbering/setup with Engineering. Develop technical BOMs with relevant departments. Analyse specifications to identify discrepancies and improvements. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and report bottlenecks. Obtain internal sign-off on BOMs. Submit proposals to customers and incorporate feedback. Release BOMs for costing and work with Procurement on pricing. Support preparation of costing summaries and pricing strategy. Internal Process Alignment Coordinate internal order walkthroughs for volume orders. Act as technical expert at bid stage. Analyse orders to verify projected vs actual costs. Customer Engagement & Promotion Prepare sample packs or promotional offerings and gather feedback. Create sales materials for rollout. Work with the Commercial Executive on fleet profiles, trial areas and promotional strategies. Order Execution Confirm BOM assumptions against customer Bus Number BOMs. Release final BOM to Engineering. Conduct post-project reviews and support continuous improvement. Requirements 3rd-level Engineering qualification or 5 years' relevant experience. Experience in project planning and product design/development or industrialisation. Manufacturing environment experience. Experience with commercial and technical contracts. Knowledge of bus design and manufacturing. Customer-facing experience in agreeing final requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work across departments and meet tight deadlines.
