This is a new post created to support existing consultant already employed within the service.
Redcar is the major population centre of the unitary authority area of Redcar and Cleveland, formerly part of the County of Cleveland. The premises are located next to Foxrush, the base for Adult Mental Health services in Redcar, which allows for good working links with colleagues.
The population of the local authority area is approx. 136,000, with approximately 25% of them being under the age of 18. The Redcar Children and Young Peoples Service is based in a purpose built centre within easy reach of major transport links.
The post holder will support the consultant psychiatrist and the wider team in the day to day running of the service. They will be expected to see young people with a range of mental health conditions independently, seeking appropriate supervision as and when required.
Postholder will offer a mix of routine and urgent appointments in response to the needs of the service. Postholder will be expected to join multidisciplinary reviews and multiagency meetings as and when required.
Postholder will hold a caseload of patients under supervision of the consultant.
Main duties of the job
Maintain good clinical records using Trusts electronic record system
Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients
Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively
Maintain a revalidation portfolio and participate in annual appraisal
Undertake a job plan review with the Psychiatry Lead and Service Manager annually
Maintain professional registration with the GMC
Comply with Trusts agreed policies and procedures
Postholder will participate in CAMHS on call rota on middle grade level covering exclusively CAMHS patients. It is essential for the postholder to be section 12 approved to participate in the out of hours part of the role.
This attracts 8% supplement with frequency of 1:8. This is subject to change based on regular monitoring exercises.
