Previous experience is not essential, as we offer training.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) or 23 hours per week (part time). You will be required to work long shifts (12 hours) which include days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. The role is physically demanding and requires you to be on your feet for long periods, assisting patients with poor mobility.
Requirements: You must be fully flexible across all shift patterns. The role does not currently meet the salary requirement for certificate of sponsorship; the minimum salary for a Skilled Worker visa is £25,000 per year from 9th April 2025.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care while maintaining privacy and dignity.
* Assist patients (both male and female) with daily living tasks, including washing, toileting (hygiene & continence) and meals (nutrition).
* Help with mobility needs and provide pressure area care.
* Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
* One‑to‑one observation for patients who present a high risk due to clinical condition.
* Ensure that the ward environment is clean and safe, preventing infection and falls.
* Take and record patients’ vital signs, identify and escalates changes to the registered nurse.
* Perform additional clinical skills such as ECGs, venepuncture and simple dressings as required by the ward area.
* When competent, train and support new and junior team members, including student nurses.
