Wise Employment is currently recruiting for a Development Chef for an established and successful food manufacturing company based in Callington, East Cornwall.
This is an on-site, permanent role with a salary of up to £50k, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The role includes an excellent bonus package such as:

This is a key role as a Development Chef, leading culinary creation for products for a high-end retailer, inspiring excellence. You will deliver New Product Development (NPD) of savoury products from concept to launch, aligning with brand standards and briefs.
You will explore new culinary opportunities, bringing innovative products to life, and brief customers through proposals and presentations based on their requirements.
What your day will look like as a Development Chef
You will be responsible for:
* Leading the creation of new products from initial concept to food trial, considering manufacturing capabilities and costings
* Building strong customer relationships, arranging and leading product submissions, providing samples, and adhering to brand standards
* Monitoring market, consumer, and restaurant trends, along with competitor activity, to identify opportunities
* Leading internal critical path meetings to ensure visibility and communication among stakeholders
* Managing projects and recipe information using Recipe Professor, maintaining accurate NPD recipe files
* Collaborating with the development and innovation teams to promote a quality culture and team spirit
Experience required for a Development Chef:
You should have at least 5 years’ experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment, preferably with a high-end retailer background.
You must have a passion for food creation and promotion, with food manufacturing culinary experience as essential.
You should hold NVQ2/3 or equivalent, along with Food Hygiene and Allergy Training.
Recipe formulation understanding, food sensory skills, strong presentation, report writing, and computer skills are also required.
