Primary–Secondary Teacher (Full‑Time, MPS/UPS Scale)

Are you passionate about delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum that spans Key Stages 1–3? We are seeking a qualified teacher capable of seamlessly transitioning from primary to lower-secondary content to join a specialist setting that supports students with a broad range of learning needs.

About the School
This is a specialist provision catering to pupils aged 3–19 with a wide range of additional needs, including profound and severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and associated communication and sensory challenges. The school operates across multiple curriculum pathways to meet individual learning profiles and developmental stages.

Core Offer

A National Curriculum–based core adapted to pre-formal, semi-formal, and formal frameworks

A thematic and holistic curriculum that prioritises Communication, Independence, Community Inclusion, and Wellbeing

Individual learning plans supported by multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists

High staff-to-pupil ratios, small group teaching, and flexible learning environments

A strong emphasis on life skills, emotional literacy, and preparation for adulthood, including community access and work-related learning

Students & Staff

The setting supports pupils with a combination of cognitive, communication, sensory, and emotional needs

The team includes teaching staff, therapists, specialist support staff, and external professionals working in close collaboration

Staff from primary, SEND, or alternative education backgrounds are welcomed and supported through CPD and mentoring

Role & Responsibilities

Plan and deliver a primary-style curriculum adapted for secondary-aged students (up to age 14)

Use both formative and summative assessment to personalise learning and track progress

Contribute to the wider life of the school and its therapeutic and community-focused ethos

Salary & Benefits

Main Pay Scale (MPS): £31,650–£43,607

Upper Pay Scale (UPS): £45,646–£49,084

TLR allowance available for additional responsibilities (£3,391–£16,553+)

Essential Requirements

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Primary teaching experience, with the confidence and flexibility to teach older learners working below age-related expectations

A passion for inclusive, pupil-centred education

Strong behaviour management and communication skills
