Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and support strategic decision-making. This hands-on role in a dynamic environment is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in financial management and a passion for continuous improvement. You will report directly to the CFO and manage a Management Accountant, taking ownership of management accounts, budgeting, and finance process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver accurate, timely management accounts with insightful commentary.
* Lead the annual budgeting process, reforecasts, and cash flow planning.
* Develop and enhance financial processes and internal controls to support a growing business.
* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, providing analysis to support decisions.
* Drive automation and reporting improvements using Excel, Power Query, and other tools.
* Collaborate with operational teams to understand cost drivers and improve financial performance.
* Manage and develop one Management Accountant, fostering a culture of excellence.
* Support the CFO with ad hoc analysis, board reporting, and strategic finance projects.
Skills And Experience Required
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role in a growing, fast-paced business, ideally in care, healthcare, or service-led sectors.
* Exceptional Excel skills: confident with advanced formulas, dynamic arrays, and Power Query.
* Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and financial planning.
* Experience implementing or improving finance systems and processes.
* Able to thrive in a lean, agile environment with a hands-on approach.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate across functions.
* Commercially savvy with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
* Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
