On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a BIM Technician for a 3 Month contract based in Birmingham. Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience Purpose of the role: We are seeking a Civil Engineering BIM Technician to join our established Bridge and Civil Structures team in the Midlands. This is a permanent opportunity within a creative, collaborative, and supportive environment. You will play an active role in delivering high-quality 3D models, drawings, and BIM documentation across all stages of design, from early concepts through to detailed construction deliverables. What youll do: Produce Building Information Modelling (BIM) documentation for a wide range of Bridge and Civil Structures projects. Coordinate with internal and external disciplines to prepare, maintain, and update BIM models. Create detailed 2D drawing documentation and assist in developing drawing lists for project deliverables. Check drawings and models for accuracy, quality, and compliance with required standards-both your own work and that of others. Manage workload effectively to ensure project deadlines are consistently met. Assist in preparing project-related correspondence, reports, and supporting documentation. Support the development of other team members where required. Contribute to the continuous improvement of good practice, standards, and digital processes within the Arup skills network. Participate in presentations, workshops, and collaborative design activities. Engage in ongoing development with access to training, feedback, and progression opportunities. The skills youll need: HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structures, or a related discipline. Strong technical foundation within civil engineering. Proficiency in CAD platforms such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Experience with 3D modelling tools such as AECOsim, OpenBridge, Revit, or Tekla. Reinforcement detailing experience using tools such as ProStructures or CADSRC. Understanding of ISO 19650 and experience ensuring deliverables meet these requirements. Ability to undertake and review model audits. Competence with standard office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
