Lead User Researcher
Location: UK-wide (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Salary: Up to £95,000 (depending on experience)
A leading digital consultancy is seeking an experienced Lead User Researcher to join their growing Experience Design capability. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional digital services that put users first and create a meaningful impact at scale.
The Role
As a Lead User Researcher, you will be responsible for delivering actionable insights that guide the design of intuitive, effective services. You will champion needs-based design and design thinking approaches, while coaching and mentoring other researchers across the business.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring research outputs are robust, data-driven, and aligned to project objectives. This is a chance to influence the design of services used by millions and be part of a collaborative, ambitious, and supportive

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, plan, and deliver design research activities using the most appropriate methodologies
* Provide clear, evidence-based insights and artefacts to inform service design
* Collaborate with client teams to create relevant and practical research plans
* Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods effectively
* Mentor and coach researchers to develop their skills and approaches
* Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness
* Contribute to a user-centred design culture across projects
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in leading user research across complex digital services
* Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
* Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles
* Experience working within Agile delivery teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
* Background of 8+ years in a digital agency or consultancy setting
* Thought leadership or recognised expertise in research practices
* Demonstrable commitment to user-centred design principles
