Infrastructure Support Engineer
Basingstoke - Hybrid
Our client is seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join their talented support team to support BAU platform activities across a Windows cloud estate. Working within a team of 8 individuals this is a newly created role to the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Support: Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line IT support, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues. Focus on finding the root cause and implementing permanent solutions.
* Platform Expertise: Work with Windows (or Linux) platforms, with a willingness to deepen knowledge in both.
* Visualisation & Storage: Administer visualisation technologies and storage arrays.
* Patch Management & Backup: Manage patching processes using software like SCCM or Intune, and handle backup concepts and software.
* Incident Management: Use commercial Incident, Problem, and Change management tools.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incident resolutions. Provide regular reports as needed.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in 2nd or 3rd line IT support.
* Experience with Linux and/or Windows platforms.
* Familiarity with public cloud environments.
* Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, VxRail, Nutanix).
* Experience with storage arrays (Dell Compellent, HPE Nimble).
* Experience with patch management software.
* Knowledge of backup concepts and software.
* Proficiency PowerShell scripting.
* Endpoint protection and anti-virus management experience (SentinelOne).
* Experience with commercial incident, problem, and change management tools (BMC Remedy, Halo preferred).
