Role Overview
The Moulding Lead Maintenance Engineer will oversee the maintenance and reliability of injection moulding equipment and processes. This role involves leading a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure high operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards. The engineer will also act as deputy to the Facilities & Sustainability Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring high performance and engagement.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a strong safety culture.
* Be available for on-call duties as per operational needs, in accordance with the Working Time Directive.
* Support facilities technicians and energy management projects.
* Supervise daily maintenance operations.
* Plan work assignments, RAMS, and preventive maintenance schedules.
* Manage stock control and procurement.
* Gather data for TPM and drive continuous improvements.
* Coordinate with production to minimize stoppages.
* Collaborate with engineering on projects.
* Oversee contractors, including risk assessments and CDM compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Experience with injection moulding machines and robotics.
* Understanding of environmental procedures.
* 18th edition IEE regulations.
* Strong PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Engineering degree or equivalent (desirable).
