Overview: We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to take ownership of strategic and complex bid opportunities. Our client is a family-run SME based in Woking, and this role is central to driving growth. You’ll manage the full bid lifecycle—from planning and coordination to submission—while supporting sales activities and ensuring proposals meet client expectations and align with our high standards. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of strategic and complex bid opportunities.
* Support all elements of the sales process under the direction of senior leadership.
* Contribute effectively to bid strategy and customer win plans.
* Prepare all tender documents and collate required information in conjunction with the commercial team.
* Complete pre-tender questionnaires and ensure compliance.
* Drive engagement and “buy-in” from internal teams to meet customer expectations.
* Tailor bid processes to meet opportunity timescales and ensure deadlines are met.
* Arrange and follow up on business development meetings.
* Oversee maintenance and updates of the CRM sales pipeline in line with company policies.
* Manage consistent communication with internal teams, business partners, senior stakeholders, and consultants.
* Take a customer-facing role when required.
* Conduct internal and external lessons‑learned reviews and document outcomes, including bid analysis and reporting.
* Maintain sales documentation required for ISO9001 accreditation.
* Prepare PowerPoint presentations and create new templates as needed.
* Collate sales figures for monthly meetings.
* Research clients for meetings, including threat/needs analysis.
* Provide market analysis and research for existing and potential sectors.
* Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications:
* Proven expertise in bid preparation and bid writing (experience in security or risk management industries is advantageous).
* Strong experience in bid management and managing bid processes.
* Skilled in proposal management, ensuring concise and compelling submissions.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
* Knowledge of risk management or related industries is a plus.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a relevant field preferred.
