Main Purpose of the Job
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Engineer to join our Highway & Structures Team on the Portsmouth City Council Highways PFI Contract with Colas Ltd.
The successful candidate will support the team in delivering highway and structures projects.
The role involves design experience related to highway and structures inspection, design, and supervision of works activities, from initial feasibility and surveys, through design and construction phases, to supervision of works and as-built documentation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Site Surveys
* Highway & Structures Inspections & Reporting
* Highway & Structures Design & Drafting (AutoCAD)
* Supervision of Highway & Structures Works
* Preparing Specifications
* Report Preparation
Experience and Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering
* Demonstrable experience with design and calculations at the level of Senior or Principal Engineer
* Good understanding and application of current highway design codes and standards
* Knowledge of current health and safety legislation
