Job Purpose: As an EHS Manager at Bodycote, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation. You will be responsible for defining and maintaining EHS policies and procedures, administering the EHS system, and serving as the key point of contact for all safety, health, and environmental matters. In this role, you will be responsible for the area spanning from Chard to Coventry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prioritize health and safety as paramount, ensuring strict compliance with Bodycote health and safety procedures.
2. Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders, fostering a culture of safety and responsibility.
3. Oversee and implement the Bodycote Health and Safety Management system for UK ADE, ST, and AGI, employing a Plan, Do, Check, Act philosophy.

4. Set clear objectives and establish performance metrics.
5. Identify and stay abreast of legal requirements.
6. Provide regular reports to key stakeholders.
7. Anticipate and plan for changes in safety protocols.

9. Organize activities to execute safety plans effectively.
10. Foster employee engagement to promote positive safety behaviors.
11. Allocate necessary resources to support safety initiatives.
12. Communicate EHS alerts promptly and effectively.
13. Continuously identify opportunities for improvement.

14. Assess the effectiveness of risk control measures.
15. Conduct formal audits and inspections.
16. Investigate root causes of accidents, near misses, and incidents.
17. Ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
18. Review safety performance metrics regularly.
Act:
19. Implement lessons learned from accidents, incidents, and near misses.
20. Review and update policies, risk assessments, and other documentation as needed.
21. Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues on best practices and safety culture development.
Education, Skills, and Experience Required:
22. Certified Health & Safety training (NEBOSH trained) is essential.
23. Certified ISO internal auditor qualification is essential.
24. Certified ISO Lead auditor qualification is desirable.
25. Knowledge of the Engineering/Manufacturing environment is preferred.
26. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email packages, along with database experience.
27. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
