The role
As a Facility Processing Operator, you’ll be at the heart of operations that support national security and defence. This is a hands-on role where you’ll undertake mechanical fitting activities and conduct operations on Facility Processing and Fixture Assembly Static Test Facility systems and equipment. Your work will ensure the safe and efficient functioning of critical infrastructure, making a real difference to the business and the wider community.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance and nuclear-implicated work to meet business objectives.
2. Identify and rectify system and manufacturing defects, ensuring compliance with processes.
3. Suggest improvements to systems and processes to boost productivity.
4. Provide familiarisation training for new staff on facility processing systems and equipment.
5. Conduct quality control inspections in line with relevant documentation.
This is a full-time role, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Coulport.
Essential experience of the Facility Processing Operator:
6. Working with mechanical systems and equipment.
7. Understanding of SWS system operations and documentation.
8. Experience with facility processing operational documentation.
9. Knowledge of quality control systems.
Qualifications for the Facility Processing Operator:
10. Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
