A primary school in Harlow is seeking a specialist Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with autism. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, patient, and experienced professional to make a real difference in a child’s learning and development.

The Role:
* Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with autism in a primary school setting.
* Help the child access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised support plans.
* Support social, emotional, and behavioural development using positive strategies.
* Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
* Maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing environment to meet the child’s needs.

The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children with autism or complex additional needs in a school setting.
* Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
* Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
* Confident implementing positive behaviour strategies and individual learning plans.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or SEN-specific training are desirable but not essential.
